MICHAEL A. CAMPBELL, ESQ.

Attorney Michael A. Campbell’s practice focuses primarily on the representation of criminal defendants through all phases of litigation which includes pre-trial, trial, and post conviction relief. He has also been involved in several high-profile cases throughout his career including Death Penalty Eligible cases.

Attorney Campbell has successfully argued before the Indiana Supreme Court and has been featured on CBS News Chicago. When it comes to Practicing Law, Attorney Campbell believes that it is a service oriented profession, which is why he places an emphasis on providing each of his clients with efficient and effective representation while also maintaining thorough communication.

From 2019 - 2025, Attorney Campbell was Designated as one of the Top 40 under 40 Criminal Defense Attorneys in the State of Indiana by the National Trial Lawyers. In addition to numerous other awards, in 2024 and 2025 Attorney campbell was named by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. This award is given to only 2.5 % of Eligible Attorneys and is a based on a peer review Nomination Process.

Attorney Campbell is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Florida. he is also licensed to practice Before the United States Supreme Court and Federal Court in the Northern District of Indiana. Attorney Campbell is a member of the Lake County Bar Association (Criminal Law Section), the Porter County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and National Trial Lawyers Association.

FERDINAND ALVAREZ, ESQ.

Attorney Ferdinand Alvarez joined Campbell Law, P.C. after many years working as a Prosecutor in Lake and Porter Counties. During that time, Attorney Alvarez gained invaluable insight as to the inner workings of both Prosecutor Offices as well as significant trial experience which he now uses to his clients’ advantage. Ultimately, Attorney Alvarez grew tired of seeing the justice system stacked against criminal defendants, which is why he has now dedicated his career to defending those charged with crimes.

As a life-long Northwest, Indiana native, Attorney Alvarez attended primary school at Blessed Sacrament in Gary and went on to graduate from Bishop Noll Institute. After completing his undergraduate studies at Purdue University Northwest, Attorney Alvarez obtained his Masters Degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University Northwest. Attorney Alvarez is a graduate of Valparaiso Law School where he participated in the Criminal Law Clinic, clerked for a Porter County Judge, and completed an internship with the Northern District of Indiana Public Defender’s Office.   

In 2019, Attorney Alvarez made history as the first Latino elected to the Portage City Council, a position he continues to hold today. Attorney Alvarez also serves as the Chairman of the City of Portage Ordinance Committee where he uses his legal knowledge to help his community pass new laws. In his spare time Attorney Alvarez dedicates his time as a member of the Portage Township YMCA Board of Directors and the Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association.
